Take two in the murder trial of a Riley man.
Opening arguments began yesterday in the trial of 55 year old Richard Boswell Jr.
He is charged with killing 20 year old Kathy Jo Baker and trying to kill her 2 year old son in 1979.
The 12 jurors and two alternates were seated yesterday just after lunch and the trail began.
The first trial ended in a mistrial after a witness made reference to the defendant’s criminal history. Defense attorneys had asked for the trial to be moved due to pretrial publicity but the judge Michael Lewis denied the request.
Boswell was arrested in October 2011 after DNA evidence in the case came to light that was unavailable in 1979.
