At last night’s Clay County School Board meeting, members discussed upgrading security at their schools.
Officials say that they want to upgrade security cameras inside and outside every school.
Total cost would be around $450,000.
The new system would also link to local law enforcement so they could receive real time information.
It could be a couple of months before a decision is made on the camera system.
The board did decide to pay $6,500 to an Indianapolis consultant to do an assessment of security measures already in place and make recommendations on improvements.
