It has been officially confirmed that Cody Zeller will enter the NBA draft this year and will not return to Bloomington this fall.
During a news conference on Wednesday the 7-foot sophomore center made the announcement 24-hours after teammate Victor Oladipo announced he was turning pro.
Zeller made the decision to stay last year in attempt to make a run for a 6th banner for the Hoosiers but fell short after losing to Syracuse in the regional semifinals.
The Hoosiers will now lose four key players in Jordan Hulls, Christian Watford, Zeller and Oladipo who were Indiana’s top scorers last season accounting for roughly two-thirds of the Hoosier’s points.
Zeller scored 1,157 career points and leaves IU as the Hoosier’s career leader in field goal percentage shooting 59.7% from the field.
