A missing Wabash Valley man has been found dead.
The Indiana State Police say 36-year-old Shane R. Porter has been missing for nearly two months.
On Monday April 1st, a body was seen floating in the Wabash River near Patton, Illinois which is about three miles north of Mount Carmel, IL.
An autopsy was conducted in Vincennes and the body was identified as that of Porter by using dental records
The coroner has listed the preliminary cause of death as drowning pending toxicology results.
Porter was last seen at his residence on Friday, February 8th at approximately 5:15 P.M.
The evening Porter was last seen, a man was spotted swimming in the Wabash River and Porter’s car was found abandoned on February 10th in a Vincennes public parking area near Memorial Bridge.
