Justin Bieber may not have received a Grammy Award this past year, but at least he's gotten a nomination for the Webby Awards , which honor the best of everything on the Internet, from websites, to interactive advertising, to video, to social networking.
Justin is nominated in the Interactive Advertising & Media, Social and Online Film & Video category for the launch of his Girlfriend perfume, which included contests, specially created videos and even a custom version of Justin's hit "Boyfriend" that he recorded just for the campaign.
Lady Gaga , meanwhile, has been nominated in the Social category for Gaga's Workshop, the website she created in the winter of 2011 to go along with her Gaga's Workshop partnership with Barneys Department Store in New York City.
You may recall that at the time, Gaga took over an entire floor in the store's Madison Avenue building, and sold gifts that she had personally selected and, in some case, designed, with a portion of the proceeds going to charity. The website allowed those unable to get to New York to join in the fun.
The winners of the 17th Annual Webby Awards will be announced April 30; the awards ceremony will take place May 21 and will be broadcast online on May 22.
