Madonna on Wednesday returned to a Malawian orphanage that her eight-year-old son, David , once called home.
She posted on Facebook a picture of herself cradling a child at the Home of Hope orphanage. Madonna adopted David from Home of Hope in 2006. She adopted another Malawian child, her now-eight-year-old daughter Mercy , three years later.
Madonna has also posted a photo of herself with her arm around a woman from a Malawian village, with a crowd of children behind them. The caption reads, "With a Woman from Nijiti Village in Malawi where we have built 10 schools with Build On! Equal attendance Girls and Boys! YEAH!"
The education minister of Malawi, Eunice Kazembe , emphasizes to the BBC a point that's been made before: "She has built classrooms at existing schools...really it's a difference in terminology."
Madonna initially planned to build a 15-million-dollar girls academy in Malawi before deciding to help fund schools instead. On Tuesday, she visited one of those schools.
Madonna reportedly is in Malawi with her four children, including Rocco and Lourdes .
