A new study out from the Business Insider places Indiana State University close to the top of a new list , but it’s not a list they even want to be on.
ISU is the 13th most dangerous college campus in the country. The report averages FBI crime data per capita from 2008 to 2011 for schools with over 10,000 enrolled. Police Chief Bill Mercier said in a recent interview that numbers are up because they encourage students to report everything.
He also said that the numbers don’t really indicate just how safe the school is.
That may be but, ISU had an average of nine violent crime incidents a year, and last year, the university jumped to 236 larceny incidents.
Ball State University ranked at number 12.
