Indiana's lawmakers held meetings earlier this week to prepare for a very busy 2013 session that starts in January. Members of the Indiana House and state Senate plan to meet Tuesday for their "organization day," but nothing much will really happen until early January.

Then lawmakers will start work on the next two-year budget, implementing the federal health care law and other priorities including education and jobs programs. House Republicans gained a super-majority in the 2012 elections and will hold significantly more power in the coming session.
