Menards recently built a distribution center on the cities north side near 13^th and Haythorne.

Several incentives were approved by the state, county and city to make the deal happen.

One of the incentives was a $75,000 railroad spur.

The money was approved but the spur wasn’t built in time, so the Vigo County Council had to vote to approve the money again.

The city and state are also providing some of the money for the rail spur which will cost almost $1 million dollars.

Since the money is being administered by the county, the amount approved was changed to reflect the full amount.

The rail spur project should be completed by January.
