Terre Haute North and Terre Haute South have been voted out of the Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference otherwise known as the MIC.

The change takes affect after the 2013-2014 athletic season.

The Braves and Patriots competed in the MIC since 1997-1998, it is the biggest conference in the state.

After the two Terre Haute schools were voted out, they were replaced by Lawrence Central and Pike.

Here is the official press release:

The principals of the Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference met on Thursday, November 8th at a regularly scheduled meeting. During the business portion of the meeting, a motion passed removing the membership of Terre Haute North High School and Terre Haute South High School from the Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference. Additionally, Lawrence Central High School and Pike High School were admitted for membership into the Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference. These changes will take place fully in the 2014-2015 school year. The schools of the Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference value the competition and relationships enjoyed with Terre Haute North High School and Terre Haute South High School. Both schools are excellent institutions of education. We welcome a new era in the conference with our new member schools and the continued excellence of competition and academic achievement in the Metropolitan Interscholastic Conference.
