Diddy has been telling his Twitter followers they have to see the upcoming, Oscar-nominated documentary Undefeated , and now there's news that the media mogul has signed on as an executive producer of the Harvey Weinstein -produced film. Diddy will also help produce a feature remake of the story. The inspirational flick centers on an underdog high school football team in Memphis, and follows the volunteer coach who guides the young players through a tough, but rewarding season.
"I am excited to partner with Harvey Weinstein on this incredible project," Diddy says in a statement. " Undefeated is a great American story with a lot of heart and soul. It had a profound effect on me and I couldn't get it out of my mind when I saw it. There is so much truth and so much hope in this film, and I feel passionately that everyone who sees it will be inspired."
The documentary opens in select theaters on February 17.
