A Clinton man faced a scary moment when he realized that he had thrown away his winning lottery ticket worth $50,000. Ernest Scott III had been the winner of the February 2nd Lucky 5 drawing, matching all five numbers, but didn’t realize he had won until he had already thrown his ticket in the trash. Luckily his family was able to search through the garbage and find the ticket buried under a pile of coffee grounds. Scott hopes to use the winnings to build a garage and take a family vacation to Florida.
