On Friday, the UK tabloid the Daily Star reported that Adam Lambert would join Brian May and Roger Taylor of the legendary rock group Queen for a series of performances this summer in Europe. The article featured numerous quotes from Adam, in which he said things like, "The intention is to pay tribute to [late Queen frontman] Freddie [ Mercury ] and the band by singing some...great songs. It's to keep the music alive for the fans and give it an energy that Freddie would have been proud of." Well, it turns out that Adam did say those things -- but not in that context.
This past November, Adam did perform with May and Taylor at the MTV Europe Music Awards, and it appears that that's when he made those comments -- he wasn't talking about touring with Queen this summer. On Friday, he tweeted, "Oooh them clever reporters takin my quotes outta context.... I haven't confirmed any guest appearances. I was talking about the EMA'S. :)" He added, "That being said, I'm truly flattered by your jump to such glorious conclusions mr journalist!! :)"
