A child was hospitalized Monday after being hit by a car in Clay County.
Police say that the 9 year old was getting mail out of the mailbox when he stepped in front of a van and was hit.
It happened early in the afternoon on County Road 200 East, about a half mile south of County Road 800 North.
The driver of the car was 73-year-old Nancy Knox of Centerpoint.
The boy was taken to the Clay county hospital.
Authorities say that his injuries were not life threatening.
Police do not believe drugs or alcohol were factors in the incident.
