A deal that allowed Vigo County government to save money on fuel last year is being considered for renewal.
The Vigo County Council passed a resolution to buy into the program again next year.
They county was able to save over $3,500 this year.
The way the program works: the county buys fuel at a set predetermined price, if the price goes up they pay the guaranteed price, and if prices go down, then they still buy at that same price.
So if prices go up the county is money ahead but if prices go below the guaranteed price, then the county looses.
