State conservation officers are asking for help to find out who shot and killed a state-protected bobcat. It happened last Thursday in Montgomery County.

The 29-pound bobcat died of a single gunshot wound to the abdomen. Bobcats are protected under state law.

Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to contact the DNR at 1-800-TIP-IDNR or www.in.gov/dnr . 

 A cash reward is offered and callers can remain anonymous.
