A republican state legislator form Syracuse is authoring legislation that would make a cold and allergy medication that is now behind the counter only for sale by prescription.
This would affect all medicines that contain pseudoephedrine.
That is a key component in making meth.
State Police say that they respond to around 1,500 meth labs a year.
The proposed law has allot of support from the State Police, the Indiana Association of Cities and Towns and mayors from around the state.
Similar legislation in 2010 but it failed.
