It’s a sad fact of live but many people who have pets just don’t care enough to take proper care of them.
Terre Haute Code Enforcement officers can be called out up to 20 times a day.
Now that colder weather is here it is not uncommon to find pets tied up outside in the cold with no shelter or perhaps in a pen that needs cleaned.
The pets often do not have food and if they have water it is often frozen.
The pet can be taken to the shelter and the owner will have to go to court but the situation often repeats as officers seem to be called back to the same location time and again.
If you see a mistreated pet, call police so that they can try to help.
