FREDONIA TOWNSHIP, MI (WTVB) - Calhoun County authorities say an Angola, Indiana man has been busted on home invasion and vehicle theft charges following a series of incidents that occurred early last night. Deputies say 30-year old Josh Munger confessed to the crimes after being arrested.
It all started around 6:30 p.m. when authorities were called to check out an abandoned black Cadillac parked in a driveway, registered out of Indiana. That was in the 7-thousand block of 13-And-A-Half Mile Road. About 40-minutes later, deputies went to B-Drive South in Fredonia Township, responding to a reported home invasion. They were told a white male driving a blue S-10 pickup had fled the scene.
A short time later, the pickup was located by a DNR Conservation officer at Rosemary’s Party Store at the corner of Old 27 and F-Drive South. People at the store said that a second pickup had now been stolen from that location. A county-wide manhunt located the truck and Munger in the 16,000 block of A Drive North in Marshall Township.
Deputies were later advised that Munger also attempted to steal a vehicle in the 10,000 block of 17 Mile Rd but was caught in the act and fled the scene. Munger also faces charges of operating under the influence of drugs and driving on a suspended license.
