A Boston Bombing Victim Gets Engaged To His Nurse

by Tommy Fox

31-year-old James Costello of Malden, Massachusetts was one of the victims in the Boston Marathon bombing on April 15th. He was standing near the finish line with his friends, and suffered severe burns that required several surgeries and skin grafts.

You might remember the photo of him that circulated, where he's walking away from the blast site, and his clothes are ripped to shreds. Three people he was with lost legs, including his two brothers.

Anyway, after his surgeries, they transferred him to a rehab facility in Boston, where his story took a turn for the better. He met a nurse named Krista D'Agostino, and not long after they met, they started DATING.

Now James, Krista, and other victims and first responders are in Europe on an all-expenses-paid trip sponsored by a company called Vantage Travel. And while they were in France, they got ENGAGED.

Over the weekend, James posted photos of the ring on Facebook along with a message that said, quote, "I now realize why I was involved in the tragedy. It was to meet my best friend and the love of my life."
