I'm trying to understand a hoax, which was admitted by the New Britain Rock Cats. A YouTube video of a failed marriage proposal during a baseball game was seen by thousands. The New Britain, Connecticut team is a minor league team of the Minnesota Twins.
The promotional department of the Rock Cats say they got 2 of its employees to act out a man proposing to a woman in front of the home dugout during a game last week. The woman rejected the proposed marriage request in front of the baseball crowd.
What was the purpose of staging a fake rejection of a marriage proposal? It must have been done so people could see the reaction of the man, on being given the Heisman. Now, that's funny. Watching someone being rejected from someone they want to spend the rest of their life with.
I've never been a fan of public marriage proposals, especially at sporting events. How many times has the woman said yes at that moment, only to give the ring back when the crowds are gone?
Give me the sausage races at the ballpark! That's entertainment!
I'm certainly not a fan of businesses who lie to their fans, all in the game of entertainment.
