Shakir Bell ran for a pair of fourth-quarter touchdowns to help Indiana State pull away
for a 24-3 victory over Southern Illinois on Saturday night.
Bell finished with 160 yards on 33 carries for Indiana State.
He scored on a 2-yard run with 13:02 left in the game to give his team a 14-3
advantage, and ran another one in from 2 yards out with 9:48 left to make it 21-3.
Kory Faulkner, the quarterback for Southern Illinois, was pressured most of the game
by the Indiana State defense. He completed just 12 of 24 passes for 137 yards and was
intercepted three times.
The Sycamores are home this Saturday for Homecoming. They will take on Missouri
State. Kickoff is 3:05 p.m. EDT.
