Here's the story about Liam, who was born nearly 4 months pre-mature. If you have time, your donations will make a difference.
It will take a Village to Raise Liam
The world went from round to pear shaped on December 27 when our family grew with the addition
of Liam Wilcox. He was due to arrive April 15 and was born at 24 weeks, at 1 lb 10 oz and 12 ½ long
in medical terms he is a micro-preemie. Liam was off the ventilator and his family was able to hear his
tiny cries, but that was short lived. He is currently back on the ventilator, has had to have two blood
transfusion and was 10 days old the first time his mom got to hold him. His Family is in for a long stay,
God willing, a long and healthy life is possible for Liam thanks to the caring staff and amazing technology
available at Riley Children’s Hospital in Indianapolis.
His mother is there with him and staying at the Ronald McDonald House. His father is working and
with the help of grandparents are caring for his three year old brother Mason. Mason has over heard the
grown ups and now calls him Liam “strong man” and he might be “Itty Bitty” but he is a real fighter. Of
course, his mother is not able to work and financially this is a very trying time.
So this is our first benefit. Liam is the son of Ashby Wineinger Wilcox and Brad Smith Wilcox of Clinton,
the grandson of Jack & Julie Wineinger of Clinton, the grandson of Susan Cramer & Steve Cramer of New
Goshen, and the grandson of and Jim & Lisa Wilcox of Rockville.
