The guy in the picture above is Gary Buslik. He owned and operated an alarm system company that grossed $6 million a year in annual sales and earned him $500K/year. He wasn't happy with his job so he sold his company and went towards his passion, literature, in 1997. Gary has since graduated with his Ph.D in 2007 and teaches at the University of Illinois-Chicago still to this day.
I must say, I admire his passion. It shouldn't be about the money, it should be about what makes you happy.
