When this school says ZERO-TOLERANCE they really mean it. At Park Elementary School in Baltimore, Maryland, seven-year-old Josh Welch was suspended for biting his Pop Tart into a gun shape.
Apparently, Josh was eating his Pop Tart at school, and he says, quote, "I was trying to turn it into a mountain. But it didn't look like a mountain, really. It turned out to be a gun, kind of."
His teacher saw the Pop Tart, sent Josh to the principal and he was suspended for two days under the school's zero-tolerance policy.
The school sent a letter home with students saying he was suspended because he, quote, "used food to make an inappropriate gesture."
There has to be somewhere to draw this line right? I get that we have to be aware of guns in school but when are we going to let kids be kids?
