Keep Your YELP Shut!

A Virginia court has ordered Jane Perez to pay $750,000 to her former high school classmate, Christopher Dietz. Why? Because Perez gave Dietz's contracting business negative reviews on Yelp! and Angie's List. Dietz claims the reviews were false, and that Perez actually never paid him for any work he did. See, this is why I don't own or work on houses.

It's about time that people who just troll the internet being negative because their lives are miserable and think the world should share in their pain. Now I'm not saying that ALL trolls should be punished but I agree with the ruling in this case because it has an effect on the business.

People have always said negative things about other people, no matter if they knew them or not, and it's always going to happen. However, when it actually starts to interfere with a persons personal or professional life then I feel there should be some form of punishment.

What do you think, did the judge get this one right?
