Some details about the upcoming "Rock Band 3" game which will be out sometime before Christmas have been released. Here's a peek of some of the new features:
--The game will feature a new instrument: A keyboard. It'll be a 25-key controller, which basically looks like a real keyboard. You can play it while standing or sitting.
--Another big new feature is the "Rock Band Pro" mode, which attempts to make the game play more like real instruments. Naturally, this also makes the game quite a bit more difficult. In the mode, the color-based stream of "notes" is swapped out with "more realistic musical notations", and you can buy and hook up the new versions of the instruments.
--Also, there is a 6-string guitar without buttons, and another six-"string" guitar controller, with buttons on each fret. You can also buy a new drum kit that comes with 3 cymbals.
-- You can also still have the two back-up singers, so all told, up to 7 people can play this game at the same time. That's pretty cool, and would make for some fun karaoke parties. I would imagine the new game will be out sometime in October or November, just in time for the holidays.
