Today, Terre Haute will celebrate the Holidays with the 4th Annual Miracle on 7th Street. Festivities include an Open Air Marketplace, Gallery Openings, Wreath and Poinsettia sales, holiday music, Gingerbread House Contest and more.
Merchants (with locations between Poplar & Cherry and 1st St. and 14th St.) are invited to participate in a Holiday Window Decorating Contest. Join us in the Holiday Spirit by decorating your business window. Judges will announce the winner today. First Prize is a free ad in either the Tribune Star or Terre Haute Living; Second Prize is a free stay at the Hilton Garden Inn.
The Ginger Bread House Decorating Contest, sponsored by Century 21 Advantage, will be even bigger and better this year. The contest will be limited to 45 entries. 7 entries will be reserved for schools and will be distributed through the Vigo County Public Schools central office. 3 entries are reserved for Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology, Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College and ISU.
This year the trees will surround the vendor tents at 7th and Wabash. Entrants must use lights in their decoration and electricity will be provided. Every participating organization will receive $100 and the winning organization will receive $500. The Breakfast Optimist Club is providing the trees. Frontier Communications and Terre Haute Savings Bank are sponsoring the event.
Nick and I will be there playing music! See you tonight!
