This past Labor Day weekend was a very special day for me, as I got to take in my first Badger game at Camp Randall Stadium since 1984. For my fiance', it was her first EVER experience of the chaos that is a football Saturday in Madison.
A VIEW OF PART OF THE STUDENT SECTION AT CAMP RANDALL STADIUM
As we were sitting there in the 90 degree heat, sweat rolling down my back into places I'd just as soon not talk about - a thought struck me. My son needed to be there!
I promised myself as a Dad I would go out of my way when need-be to do things like football games; baseball games etc. with my son (and daughter, but she's not a sports fan.) Now that we're not living in the same town, that promise is harder and harder to fulfill - but my experience in Madison reminded me of how important times like this can and should be.
He's coming over to visit next weekend....we're going to The Cities for the Minnesota/Western Illinois game I think
