Trainer Jillian Michaels hasn’t been to the gym in two weeks. And those who know of the fitness guru and motivator from NBC’s “The Biggest Loser” are no doubt suitably shocked.
The fitness fanatic, who left the show last year, gets a pass for being tardy when it comes to gym time these days: she’s now pulling double duty as a new mom.
“We’re swimming in babies over here,” Michaels, 38, reveals to People Magazine of her home life with partner Heidi Rhoades that now counts not one, but two little household additions.
On May 12 Michaels was finally able to bring home her 2-year-old daughter Lukensia from Haiti, following a lengthy, two-year adoption process. Just two weeks prior, her life partner Heidi Rhoades gave birth to a son Phoenix on May 3 in Los Angeles. Suddenly it’s instant family at chez Michaels.
Jillian revealed her bisexuality in 2010 and has been dating Rhoades, 31, for the past three years. Michaels only announced her plans to adopt last year, and had kept Rhoades’ pregnancy quiet in the press.
Of her current day-to-day life, Michaels has swapped treadmills and free-weights for baby strollers and diaper bags.
"I don't even answer email. I don't have time to care about anything else," the personal trainer said. "I want to be really present and enjoy all the nuances of their growth and development. I don't want to rush any of it."
Of the sudden expansion, Rhoades tells People that, “It’s not the way we had planned it! But that’s how our life works. It’s always big. It could never be one child at a time.” The couple has not revealed their son’s biological father to date.
Michaels admits that she has taken a backseat to her kids well-being and happiness. “Telling moms ‘You need to put yourself first’?” she says with disbelief. “It’s impossible to put yourself first when you are a mom.”
We've talked about this on air before -- humiliation.. Is it a form of punishment?
This girl posted a picture of herself with a bottle of vodka on Instagram. She's 12-years old, and mom made her put this picture up.

I've said before, I don't agree with or support public humiliation as a form of punishment. So many other ways to handle this situation!

I'm so going to send a copy to my Aunt Monteena and have her read some on air!
I love this story!
It's an unbelievable story of generosity out of Clark County. A business owner took his hard-earned money to buy an amazing amount of clothing and supplies to help the less fortunate there.
His name is Rankin Paynter. He was buying items at a Clark County K-Mart before it closed for good. That's when he wondered where all the unsold items were going. A clerk said power buyers take it all, so he signed up to be one.
Six hours and four cash registers later, Paynter was the proud owner of a couple hundred thousand dollars worth of merchandise, all of which he donated to Clark County Community Services.
"What I see is people coming in my store, needy people sell their stuff," said Paynter, who owns a jewelry exchange business in Winchester. "It's bad nowadays. I just told (the clerk) lets just give it away to charity."
Did you ever watch the 80's drama Beauty and the Beast, it still comes on late at night on cable -- I loved the show, and The CW is re-creating it this fall!
Here's a preview
When I read about Donna Summer yesterday, I'll admit I was a little sad. I'll be honest, I wasn't the biggest Donna Summer fan in the world, I didn't react like I did when Whitney died, I was mostly sad because of what the songs reminded me of.
My Aunt Barb passed away in 2001, and I remember spending the night with her as a kid, she was single, her kids grown. I guess you could say Barb was in a 'Mid-Life' crisis mode. She had the cherry apple red Mustang convertible, we'd stay up late on Friday night eating popcorn and watching The X-Files.
Anyways, Barb had this cassette in her car, and she would crank this song up and sing, "This was MY song" she'd say. I think it was the anthem for single working mothers throught the 80's, and in some ways is to this day.
Here are some other videos from the Queen of Disco, rest in peace Donna Summer, I'm sure my Aunt Barb will be at your first concert in heaven!
OK - this guy is insane! If I was the alligator, I would've attacked him too!
