I think I'd quit!

Here's one way to deal with the scandalous activities of your city workers. The mayor of Fukuoka, Japan has banned all public servants from drinking alcohol in public for a month. Fed up with the liquor-fuelled bad behavior of his city employees, which recently included the assault of a taxi driver and a former staffer, Mayor Soichiro Takashima announced the booze ban in an emergency meeting on Monday. Although no law exists to enforce the ban on drinking outside the workers' homes, the city is apparently "strictly enforcing" the measure, perhaps with fun police. No word on whether the workers have an epic bender planned for next month.

So, is the real world not quite doing it for you?  Want to live in a dream world where you're rich, famous, and can be with anyone you want?  That actually MIGHT be possible.

A company in Brooklyn has started taking pre-orders for a new sleep mask called Remee.  They say it actually lets you CONTROL what you dream about, and steer your dreams where you want them to go.

The way it works sounds very "Inception"-like.  The mask detects when you enter REM sleep, then starts flashing a few faint red lights in a specific sequence.  

Basically, that signals your brain that you're dreaming, so your brain can steer your dreams the way you want them without waking you up.

It sounds like science fiction(and a scam), but the inventors swear it really works.  The masks cost $95 plus $15 shipping . . . but there's no word when they're going to ship because they are just taking pre-orders.   

It sounds ridiculous.  But if you could control your dreams, what would you dream about?

This year, EIGHT girls are graduating from Presentation High School in San Jose, California, and they all have the same last name Nguyen.

And since they knew all eight of them would be back-to-back in the yearbook, they decided NOT to pick lame, corny inspirational quotes to run under their photos.  Instead, they each picked one or two words each, and formed a sentence.

So when you look at all their photos together, the quotes combine to read, "We know what you're thinking, and no, we're not related."

Classic!

Jay Michaels is a quirky little guy.  I could do a whole case study on his odd rules and behaviors.

Here's just SOME of his quirks that I've noticed:

The toilet lid MUST be closed.  He cannot see the water when it's not in use.

The remote must be placed on top of the TV.

Jay will not go grocery shopping with others.

He will not sleep under ceiling fans.

He only parks on the top floor of parking garages.

He will not sit with his back facing the door in a restaurant.

He will never set the alarm for an even time...3:37, but never 3:30.

He only sleeps wrapped up in a blanket like a burrito.
