I have been waiting for a new album from Justin Timberlake for a few years now and I finally got my wish! The 20/20 Experience is Timberlake's first new material in over six years and it does NOT disappoint.
The lead single, "Suit & Tie" featuring Jay-Z threw me off a little bit but I grew to like the song. Then he dropped "Mirrors" and I knew this album was going to be amazing. Timbaland did all of the production and also did some song writing along with Timberlake and newcomer James Fauntleroy.
The album leads with "Pusher Lover Girl" which takes you on a trip through Timberlake's life and what he's currently addicted to. If you have no clue by now, this whole album is about Jessica Biel. The album gets really good when you hit the stride of "Strawberry Bubblegum", "Tunnel Vision", and "Spaceship Coupe". That string of songs could possibly be the greatest string of three songs I've heard in years.
The only complaint I had with the album is this: I think that "Mirrors" should have been the last song and "Blue Ocean Floor" should have been placed somewhere else, if not on the album at all. Besides that MINOR hiccup, this album is almost flawless.
I give it a 9.5 out of 10.
PS: Rumor has it that there will be a "Part 2" to this album coming out in the fall. Enjoy this one while you can :)
