  • Kate Middleton Made Girls Feel Hopeless!

    Posted by Kristen Flowers
The 'pristine' appearance of the Duchess of Cambridge and her sister Pippa Middleton when they were schoolgirls made other families feel 'rather hopeless', a mother whose daughter was at the same school as the sisters has revealed.

I love stories about Kate and Pippa Middleton! Check out this juicy gosspi from Alice Philipson's column!

It was "unthinkable that they would resort to market pen on labels", she added.

She said the pair also had the "smartest" tennis rackets and had enormous picnics on school sports' days.

The Duchess and Miss Middleton are said to have been popular pupils at the Wiltshire boarding school and both excelled at sport. The Duchess was once captain of its hockey XI.

The mother told Tatler magazine: "There was always something slightly galling about having your child at school with the Middletons.

"Every pristine item of their clothing would have a beautifully sewn-in name tape, for instance.

"There were huge picnics at sports day; the smartest tennis rackets, that kind of thing.

"It made other families feel rather hopeless."

The pair no doubt owed their enviable appearance to their mother Carole Middleton, who is described as very "family-minded" by a friend.

"The thing that no one seems to get about Carole is how cosy she really is. Yes, she looks quite intimidating, but no one could be more family-minded. More of homebody".

The Duchess of Cambridge was also a keen netball player and played in the first pair at tennis when she attended Marlborough College during the 1990s where she was also an A-Grade pupil.

Other notable alumni include Princess Eugenie, Samantha Cameron, the Prime Minister's wife, Poet Laureate Sir John Betjeman and Captain Mark Phillips.

    trump on leaf

No, Donald Trump doesn’t put his hair on a big leaf when he goes to bed. This crazy, hairpiece-looking clump of yellow fluff is actually a rare caterpillar that only looks like Donald Trump’s hair.

    donald trump mug

And for that reason, this flannel moth caterpillar photographed in the Amazon has been nicknamed the Donald Trump Caterpillar.

It was spotted and photographed recently by Phil Torres of Posada Amazonas Rainforest Expeditions while leading a photography tour in a Peru rainforest. He posted the photo online and immediately people began commenting about how it looks like Donald Trump’s hair.

“We didn’t see the resemblance when we first saw the caterpillar, but looking at the photo, it’s certainly similar to his hair,” Torres told the UK Daily Mail. “It was pretty funny, people went mad for the photo comparing it to his toupee.”

Interestingly, and coincidentally, approaching the Donald Trump Caterpillar (scientific name: Megalopyge opercularis) can be very dangerous, particularly if you come in contact with the business end of its yellow mane.

“If you touch that thing, it would seriously hurt,” Torres, a field biologist, told the UK Daily Mail. “It has these little hairs that can poke into your skin and release a venom.”

Just like the real Donald Trump. How uncanny!

  • Summer Camp...For Adults ONLY!

    Posted by Kristen Flowers

Vacation is a great time to unplug, and one retreat takes that concept literally. Camp Grounded is a four-day summer camp for adults that has a digital detox component- meaning no emails or cell phones and no talking about work.

The camp is in a rural area outside San Francisco and is modeled after the Boy Scout camps of the 1970s, with open-faced cabins, a dining hall and activities like arts and crafts, archery and yoga.  Guests are encouraged to “reconnect with themselves” and to better understand their often unhealthy relationship with technology.  While this is a summer camp for “big kids,” we know what you’re thinking, and no, there are no drugs or alcohol allowed.  Hopefully spending a few days away from your iPhone is relaxing enough.

  • 4Real is a Beautiful Name

    Posted by Kristen Flowers

Check out this Yahoo! story. It's amazing what people try to get away with!

New Zealand officials released a list of baby names put forward by parents that were rejected because they were too bizarre or offensive, including "Lucifer" and "Mafia No Fear".

The list of 77 names reveals one child was set to be called "Anal" before the Department of Internal Affairs vetoed the proposal, while another narrowly avoided being dubbed "." or full stop.

Other names on the list included "4Real", "V8", and "Queen Victoria".

In some cases, parents appeared to have lost any inspiration for coming up with a moniker for their offspring, wanting to call the latest addition to the family simply "2nd", "3rd" or "5th".

The department's rules forbid any name that might imply a child holds an official title or rank, so "King", "Duke" and "Princess" were among those that had been turned down most since 2001.

"Justice" was the most popular, having been rejected 62 times, although "Justus" and "Juztice" also failed to gain official approval.

In 2008, New Zealand's family court ordered that a nine-year-old girl whose parents had called her "Talula Does The Hula From Hawaii" should have her name changed because it was embarrassing and "makes a fool of the child".

At the time, judge Rob Murfitt criticised parents who gave their children bizarre names, citing examples such as "Number 16 Bus Shelter", "Midnight Chardonnay" and twins called "Benson" and "Hedges".

NBA center Jason Collins has come out of the closet to become the first ACTIVE gay athlete in one of the four big North American sports leagues:  The NBA, the NFL, the MLB and the NHL. A TON of current and former players are showing OVERWHELMING SUPPORT for him on Twitter.  That include Kobe Bryant, who Tweeted, quote, "Proud of Jason Collins.  Don't suffocate who you are because of the ignorance of others."

Ray J released the video for his song "I Hit It First", and his co-star is an obvious Kim Kardashian look-alike.

The New York Jets released Tim Tebow yesterday, and it doesn't look like any other teams are interested.  The Jets actually tried to trade him for months.  The only teams that showed interest wanted him to switch positions to tight end, which he refused to do.

Catherine Zeta-Jones is going back into treatment for bipolar disorder.  Her people say it's basically just for, quote, "maintenance".

Last week, Fox denied a rumor that they were thinking about bringing back Jennifer Lopez to replace Mariah Carey on"American Idol" mid-season.  And now, there's word that it was actually J-Lo who approached Fox about getting her old job back.

Cee Lo Green will return to "The Voice" on May 8th to perform his new single "Only You".  Rod Stewart will also perform on that episode.

Rocky is coming to the Broadway stage. Producers announced over the weekend that a musical version of Sylvester Stallone’s Oscar-winning film will begin previews in February with the official opening expected in March.

  • Twinkies Available This Summer!

    Posted by Kristen Flowers

One more reason to look forward to summer- Hostess says we can expect Twinkies to be back on store shelves by July.

The American public was devastated when Hostess plants were shut down late last year after a union battle. Since a pair of hedge funds purchased many of the most recognizable Hostess brands, forming Hostess Brands LLC, popular products like Ding Dongs and Hostess Cup Cakes (as well as Twinkies, of course) will soon be available again.

Some of the brand’s other lines, like Wonder Bread, were bought up by competing companies Flower Foods and Grupo Bimbo, both of which have their own Twinkie-like products.
